What you probably already know is that the dogwood is a very popular tree. You may have seen them in neighborhoods, along sidewalks, or just about anywhere. The dogwood is a beautiful tree and very valuable in landscape design.
What you may not know is that the dogwood is a very important tree to wildlife and natural habitat as well. Every single part of a dogwood tree: twigs, seed, fruit, flowers, leaves and even bark, are all eaten by some critter or another in the wild. The reason for this is dogwoods are full of high calcium and fat contents that are hard to find or non-existent in other plants in the woods.
